Stringer to join Newcastle

Ireland scrum-half Peter Stringer will join a second Aviva Premiership club on loan next month.

Munster, Stringer's Irish province, have announced that he will move to Newcastle when his existing loan arrangement with Saracens ends.

He will be available for relegation-threatened Newcastle's league games from mid-March, and remain at Kingston Park for the rest of this season.

Stringer moved to Saracens on loan in December, providing scrum-half cover following injuries to Richard Wigglesworth and Neil de Kock.

Saracens rugby director Mark McCall said: "Peter has been a brilliant addition to the squad, on and off the field.

"We are sorry his three-month loan spell will come to an end after our match against Northampton on March 4."
