Trio return for Edinburgh

Scotland internationals Chris Paterson, Mike Blair and Nick de Luca all return as Edinburgh meet the Scarlets in the Magners League at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Paterson is included as captain at full-back as one of six changes made by Edinburgh head coach Rob Moffat from the side which defeated Glasgow 28-17 last Sunday.

Blair starts at scrum-half following an elbow problem and De Luca at centre for his first start of the season, while Scott MacLeod returns at second row following suspension.

Roddy Grant, the usual captain, is rested, with his place at blindside flanker taken by Stuart McInally, while Ross Rennie makes way for Alan MacDonald on the other side of the scrum.

After the visit from Scarlets, Edinburgh head into back-to-back European games away to Northampton and home to Cardiff Blues.

Moffat was encouraged by the win over Glasgow, Edinburgh's sixth win in seven home games, but is wary of the Welsh region.

He said: "It's vital everyone understands that this is another huge challenge.

"It's the first of a number of massive tests coming up over the next few weeks and it's crucial that we establish momentum to take into those other matches.

"Scarlets are a challenging team to play against - they play a positive brand of rugby and ask a lot of questions of your defence.

"We'll need everyone to front up as well as they did in the Glasgow win, and we'll also need to show the same level of ambition and threat in attack."
