Ulster A face tricky B&I Cup pool

By Staff Reporter

Ulster A face another tough looking challenge for the forthcoming season's British and Irish Cup competition after being drawn in a group with last season's semi-finalists Jersey Reds.

They join London Scottish and the Cardiff Blues Premiership Select squad in Pool 1 of the five group competition as the Kingspan Stadium outfit bid to make a rare appearance in the knockout stages.

The A squad have Kieran Campbell back in charge, ably assisted by Willie Anderson, following Alex Codling's departure to Ealing after just one season in Belfast.

Ulster's record in the B&I Cup has been pretty dismal in recent seasons with the squad last having made the quarter-finals back in 2012 when they were known as the Ravens.

Elsewhere, Munster A have been drawn in Pool 2 with current champions London Welsh, Connacht Eagles are in with London Irish and Leinster A are in Pool 4 with Nottingham and Richmond.
