Euro victory can create Ulster legacy for years to come: Best

By Jonathan Bradley

With a Champions Cup quarter-final on the line, there's already plenty at stake when Ulster take on Wasps at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on Sunday, but Rory Best believes a European run is just what's needed to inspire the province's next generation of rugby talent.

With Leinster the gold standard with their European heroics, the Ulster and Ireland skipper believes that similar success can help ensure the gap is bridged in future years.

"Leinster have a conveyor belt of people coming through now and their European success is a big part of it," he said. "All the guys coming through now, they were kids when Leinster were making the first step to push through that ceiling. We want it for ourselves, but also for the future.

"To have future players coming through, you've got to have people excited by rugby, and the only way to do that is to have success in Europe and, ideally, big games at home."
