Everything you need to know about new Ulster signing Will Addison

By Gareth Hanna

Ulster have confirmed the signing of Sale Sharks centre Will Addison. But what else do we know about him?

If you want to read more about his signing for Ulster, have a look here:

And to find out more about him, here's the low-down on Ulster's latest recruit:

Name: Will Addison

Age: 25

Position: Centre (can also play wing or full-back)

Height: 5 ft 8 / 1 m 72

Weight: 95kg  / 14 stone 13 lb

Home-town: Penrith, Cumbria

Previous clubs: Sale Sharks, Macclesfield (loan)

Club career at Sale: Addison has played over 100 appearances for the club and has scored over 150 points, including nine with his boot this season. He was named captain for the current campaign.

Irish qualified: Through his Irish mother.

International history: Addison was capped twice for England Under 20s. He had even been tipped by Sale Sharks director of rugby Steve Diamond to force his way into the senior England panel in 2016 but those hopes were ended by injury woes.

Injury-hit 2017: The frustration began with a broken toe that ended his 16/17 season early. A broken jaw then interrupted the start of his current season before other flare-ups, including hamstring tendonitis, continued his problems. However, he does point out that he's not 'injury-prone', rather has picked up a series of 'unlucky injuries that you can’t predict'.

Random fact: He was the last try-scorer at Sale's old Edgeley Park ground and the first try-scorer at their new AJ Bell Stadium.
