Four Ulster stars back in contention for Champions Cup clash at Harlequins

By Gareth Hanna

Ulster will welcome back four key players as they look to return to winning ways against Harlequins this weekend.

After surrendering a healthy advantage to draw 32-32 at Dragons on Friday, Ulster travel to London for the crunch Champions Cup Pool 1 clash. Ulster have beaten Wasps and lost to La Rochelle in their two European fixtures to date this season, sitting third in their pool.

As they enter the double-header against bottom side Harlequins, Rob Herring, Jacob Stockdale and Iain Henderson will all return from international duty while Wiehahn Herbst is back from a calf problem and in line to play his first Ulster game since the visit to the Kings at the start of November.

However, Jean Deysel, Rodney Ah You and Robbie Diack all remain unavailable this weekend.

Director of Rugby Les Kiss is hopeful that both Deysel and Diack could return for the second-half of the Champions Cup double-header against Harlequins at Kingspan Stadium on Friday December 15.

Kiss also said there have been 'positive signs' on Jared Payne's prognosis. The 32-year-old has not featured since headaches cut short his part in the British and Irish Lions' summer tour.
