Marcell Coetzee to see his surgeon after another injury setback

By Gareth Hanna

Ulster's Marcell Coetzee could be out for longer than first hoped after suffering a recurrence of pain and swelling in his left knee.

It had been thought the South African would be back in action now but, after his return date was shifted back week-on-week, Ulster Rugby have now said that he has returned to his home country to seek the opinion of the surgeon who operated on his ACL injury.

A further update will be provided after Coetzee's consultation.

The flanker originally suffered the injury in April 2016 but played only four games last season and against the Cheetahs last month before this latest complication.
