Munster 22-20 Ulster: Hosts hold on for victory at Thomond Park

By Jonathan Bradley

A late drop goal attempt from Paddy Jackson drifted wide of the posts as Ulster lost 22-20 to Munster in Thomond Park on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors would have went into the all -important fourth spot in the table with only two games remaining had they managed to sneak victory in Limerick, but were again undone by errors.

They had taken a quick lead through Irish captain Rory Best and were level 10-10 at half-time.

Despite a second-half score from Luke Marshall, the hosts were able to hold on for victory after twice coming from behind after the turn.

With Ospreys losing to Cardiff, Ulster can still make the play-offs but they will need to beat the Welsh region in the Liberty Stadium next Saturday.
