Tom O’Toole will be keen to take any chance he gets to further his case for an Ireland recall.

Six senior players have been named in the Ulster A panel that will take on Leinster A at Kingspan Stadium on Friday afternoon (kick-off 3pm).

Gareth Milasinovich, Adam McBurney and Ross Kane form a fully senior front row with Marcus Rea lining up at openside flanker, Bill Johnston at fly-half and Tom O'Toole named among the replacements.

It will be only the eighth time Milainovich has played for either the Ulster senior side or A team, having been ruled out for a full campaign with an ACL injury shortly after joining from Worcester Warriors in 2019.

O'Toole will be hoping the added game-time can do something to help continuing bid for an Ireland debut. He was included in the squad for the initial stages of last year's Six Nations but since then the coronavirus pandemic and an ankle injury sustained in the PRO14 final defeat to Leinster have ensured his wait for international game-time continues.

With no more senior Ulster matches left before Andy Farrell selects his panel for the upcoming Six Nations, O'Toole will be keen to take any further chance he gets to put his name forward.

Joining the senior players in the Ulster A side are a number of players who have picked up game-time for the first team this season, including wing Ben Moxham, full-back Aaron Sexton, scrum-half Nathan Doak and number eight David McCann, who captains the side.

Blindside flanker Harry Sheridan and inside centre Ben Carson are both in for their first A starts of the season.

Ulster's A side have already beaten their Leinster counterparts earlier in the campaign, a 29-14 win at the RDS in September. They then saw off Munster A 22-10 at home and drew 19-19 in Connacht during a December double-header.
