Ulster can stun Wasps: Treadwell

By Michael Sadlier

Second row Kieran Treadwell has called on Ulster to be firing on all cylinders as they aim to start with a vital home win from their European Champions Cup opener against Wasps tomorrow night (kick-off 7.45pm).

"We've got to be the best we can be to win it," said the 21-year-old Irish-qualified player from England, who won his first two senior Ireland caps in the summer on their tour of the US and Japan.

"We have a winning mentality (at home) and want to go out there and keep it going," he added, stressing the importance of beating an off-form Wasps at the Kingspan in this first-up Pool One clash.

"This week I feel there is an extra edge and that's what we need to put into our performance.

"And the buzz from the Kingspan when it's packed out for Europe is a really good place to be," he stated.

Ulster will still be without British and Irish Lions centre Jared Payne when they announce their team at noon today.
