Ulster rugby aces hit the beach during pre-season preparations

By Staff Reporter

Ulster Rugby stars made a splash as they stepped up their preparations for the new season yesterday.

Players were put through their paces on Portstewart Strand.

Among those hitting the beach were Tommy Bowe, Peter Nelson and Louis Ludik, with director of rugby Les Kiss keeping a watchful eye.

Players took part in sprints before braving the unseasonably chilly weather by heading for a dip in the sea.

Ulster return to action when they play English side Wasps in a pre-season friendly on August 17.

The majority of the squad began pre-season training at the end of June, while the six players who toured with Ireland, and the three players who were on Lions duty, joined the group at later stages.
