Ulster slay Dragons in eight try Kingspan thriller

Ulster 52-25 Dragons

By Adam McKendry

Ulster were in great form as they put eight tries on the Dragons at Kingspan Stadium in a 52-25 win in this Guinness PRO14 clash that takes them top of Conference B.

Nick Timoney scored twice on his first start for the province as Les Kiss’s men turned in an impressive performance to make it four wins from four to start the season.

The hosts had the bonus point after 26 minutes as Stuart McCloskey, Peter Nelson, Timoney and a penalty try put them ahead, with Wiehahn Herbst adding another before the break.

Dragons struck back through Rhys Buckley, but Jacob Stockdale crossed just after the break, quickly followed by Timoney’s second and Dave Shanahan.

The visitors tried to get a try bonus point of their own through late scores from Dane Blacker and Will Talbot-Davies, but Ulster were good value for this comprehensive victory.
