Ulster stars Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding out to clear names

By Jonathan Bradley

Two Ulster stars have forcefully denied any wrongdoing after being questioned by police over alleged sexual offences. Irish internationals Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding were arrested, interviewed, and released from custody in June but the allegations came to light only on Monday after Jackson was withdrawn from the squad travelling to Chicago to take on the All Blacks this weekend.

The PSNI confirmed a file will be prepared for submission to the PPS.

Solicitors' statements were released yeserday denying the allegations and warning against speculation.

Kevin Winters, on behalf of Jackson, said: "He rejects completely any allegations made against him. We are both disappointed and, indeed, concerned that this information has been leaked to the press before the investigation has concluded and well in advance of any final decision."

Joe Rice, the solicitor who is acting on behalf of 23-year-old Olding, said: "We wish to emphasise that he completely rejects any allegations of wrongdoing made against him and is confident his name will be cleared in due course."
