Ulster's triple hitter boost as bid for play-offs spot hots up

By Jonathan Bradley

Ulster will be able to recall three heavy hitters as they aim to keep their winning run and play-off bid going against Treviso on Friday (7.35pm).

Andrew Trimble made his comeback from injury during Ireland's Six Nations win over France last weekend and will be returned to the province for game time ahead of the national side's visit to Wales next weekend.

Craig Gilroy, whose last international game saw him score a hat-trick against Italy, has recovered from a tight calf, while Marcell Coetzee has bounced back from the illness that forced him to miss the win over Zebre last weekend.

That game saw Jared Payne make a return after three months out but, despite the final two rounds of the Six Nations on the horizon, Les Kiss says he will not be rushed.

"He is available again for us this week, he came through with no issues against Zebre. It's baby steps just to see how he goes," he said.

Iain Henderson and Paddy Jackson appeared off the bench for Ireland last week, but neither will be available. Jackson has featured in all three Six Nations ties so far while Henderson sustained a "stinger" to a shoulder.

More: Ulster can flourish by focusing on own game, says Wiehahn Herbst
