Woods hoping to sparkle for 'A' team

Ulster A face their Leinster counterparts at Ravenhill tonight (6.30pm) with a chance for a few players to lay a marker down.

Ballymena's highly rated scrum half Craig Woods starts and with Kieran Campbell off to pastures new in the summer the pivot has the opportunity to show the Ulster management what he is capable of.

Woods is partnered at half back by Malone's Kieran Hallett.

Mark McCrea gets a chance at full back with Paul McKenzie and Queen's speedster Chris Cochrane on the wing.

There is a mixture of youth and experience in midfield with Scottish international Rob Dewey partnering Darren Cave.

Ballymena No.8 Chris Henry captains the side and is joined in the back row by Grant Webb and Thomas Anderson.

Jarleth Carey and Declan Fitzpatrick prop with Belfast Harlequins hooker Stuart Philpott completes the front row.

Malone's Sam McDonald and Quins Neil McCombe form the second row.

Manager Garry Longwell is anticipating a good game of rugby.

"Training has been really good this week. The team are really looking forward to the game. All the matches so far have been very entertaining and we hope the Ulster supporters that come along to Ravenhill will enjoy a good game of rugby," he said.

For Leinster Fergus McFadden makes a return to competitive provincial action after close to a six-month lay-off and is named at inside centre.
