Fivemiletown man Chris Farrell, who plays for Munster, starts in the centre for Ireland's first World Cup warm-up game.

Joey Carbery will start at number ten.

With Johnny Sexton having been sidelined earlier in the summer with a thumb injury, the World Rugby Player of the Year has been kept on ice for the game against Italy at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.

That means that Carbery is named to start what will kick off a four-match block of games before Ireland travel to Japan for the World Cup.

The uncapped Jean Kleyn is named to start at second row, while Mike Haley - also uncapped - is selected on the bench.

Leinster nine Luke McGrath will partner Carbery in the half-backs, which will be the 26-year-old's first Ireland appearance since November 2018.
