Run Forest Run: Register for Belfast Telegraph Born 2 Run winter series

The Belfast Telegraph's Born 2 Run returns for a winter race series with the first event at Minnowburn on Saturday.

This year runners will have the choice of two distances, 10K or the newly added 5K race routes.  

The Minnowburn race starts and finishes on the fantastic newly re-furbished state-of-the art Mary Peters Track, home of Northern Ireland Athletics. This race really has it all, track, forest trail and country road, and all within a stone’s throw of Belfast city centre.

Runners who complete six out of eight races will receive a commemorative T-shirt. For further race day information please visit

Anyone who enters all the races at once will receive a BORN2RUN Buff worth £15 the perfect Winter running accessory.  Your buff can be collected on the day of the Minnowburn race at Registration.

Entry Fees

Online (before 11pm on November 2)

5K & 10K RACE: £20 (plus £3 if postal option chosen NI & £4 ROI)

Your entry fee includes the following:


• Individual chip timing

• Race Number

• Complimentary post race refreshments

Race Start Time

11.00am (The 5K will start shortly after the 10K race).

Event Registration

Registration packs can be collected on the day from the room beside the track at Athletics NI, Mary Peter’s Track. Refreshments will also be served in the Registration area after the race.

Registration Times

5K & 10K Race: Saturday 5th November 2016 : 9.00am – 10.30am


Free parking in the grounds of the Mary Peter’s Track. Please car share where possible as spaces are limited.  Once the car park is full it is the runners' own responsibility to park outside the grounds.

Start/Finish Area: On the Mary Peter’s Track.

Strictly no pets.

Water Stations

As this is a Winter race there will be no water station so please carry water with you if required.

Toilet Facilities

Toilet facilities are available at the Athletics NI building (accessed from the outside), changing room at the Track Stand and Portaloos.

Post Race Refreshments

Hydration station at finish line. Complimentary refreshments will be served in the building where Registration packs are collected, at approximately 12noon.

Prize giving – 12 noon. 5K & 10K Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female Finishers.  Category Prizes will only be awarded at the end of the Series to runners who completed 6 out of 8 races.  Six quickest race results will be used if more than 6 races completed. 


The course is a mixture of tarmac and forest paths. Running shoes are suitable for all the terrain on the 5K &10K route.
