Mark Allen's World Championship quarter-final in the balance after first session against Kyren Wilson

Mark Allen is tied at 4-4 after the first session of his World Championship quarter-final tie against Kyren Wilson.

The best-of-25 match will continue in today (Tuesday)'s evening session from 7pm before concluding in Wednesday's afternoon session at 2.30pm.

Allen, who beat Wilson in the Dafabet Masters final earlier this year, opened the match with a break of 60 to claim the first frame.

On a morning in which seven breaks of above 50 were potted, Wilson soon reversed the tie, securing a 125 break to go 2-1 ahead.

Antrim man Allen went behind twice more as Wilson fired in further breaks of 90 and 83 but the Northern Irishman twice came back, winning the final frame of the session 78-0.

Allen has already beaten Liam Highfield 10-5 and Joe Perry 13-8 to reach the final eight of the competition. Awaiting the winner of this tie in the semi-finals will be either John Higgins or Judd Trump.
