Must keep working: Mark Allen reacts after surrendering three-frame lead to lose in World Grand Prix first round

Dafabet Masters champion Mark Allen has been knocked out of the World Grand Prix in the first round.

The Antrim man had led 3-0 in Preston Guild Hall but lost all of the last four frames to Xiao Guodong.

And he was far from happy with his own display. He tweeted:

Allen started well with his highest break of the match, an 86 to win frame one but scored just 50 points over the final four frames as Guodong racked up breaks of 89, 78 and 71 to take an unlikely victory.

Ranked 29th, Guodong is 20 places below Allen in the world rankings.

Allen is next in action when he begins his Welsh Open campaign against Cao Yupeng next week.

The next Triple Crown tournament is the World Championships, which begin on April 21.
