Great British hope Johanna Konta is refusing to look beyond her quarter-final clash with the unfancied and unseeded Czech Barbora Strycova today after defeating two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova in three sets yesterday.
Konta came from a set down to triumph 4-6 6-2 6-4 to set up a last eight clash with Strycova.
"Strycova is a very crafty player, she knows how to mix up the game," admitted Konta, who lost their only match between the pair in 2017. "She knows how to play on this surface. I mean, like me, she's won four matches to get here, as well. I'm just looking forward to playing another great player."
If Konta does prevail against Strycova, she will not have to come up against world no.1 Ashleigh Barty as the Australian was the biggest casualty yesterday, losing 3-6 6-2 6-3 to Alison Riske.
