Senior Open at Boat Club nets Racquet deal

By Robert Jones

Newly rebranded local business, The Racquet Lab, is the new sponsor for this year's Ulster Senior Open Tennis Championships which will be held at the Belfast Boat Club from Sunday, June 17th to Saturday, June 23.

The prestigious Ulster Senior Open, which has been hosted by the Belfast Boat Club for over 100 years, is a firm fixture on the senior tennis calendar, drawing talent from all over Ireland.

The Racquet Lab, formerly CJS Tennis, is a leading racquet servicing company with close links to Belfast Boat Club and to the tournament, providing a stringing service across Northern Ireland for over 16 years.

Co-owner Chris Sanlon has also been the Tournament Director for the last nine years.

"I'm very happy to be able to sponsor this year's tournament in my 10th year as Tournament Director," Chris said.

"Sponsorship is vital to the success of the tournament and it's great to be able to support the Ulster Senior Open.

"The event provides graded events alongside the main Ulster Title Championship events meaning that all players can take part. If you have never tried a tournament before I would encourage you to enter this one."

Last year's mens singles winner Jordan McKeown made history when he became the youngest player to claim both the Ulster Senior and Ulster Junior titles in the same year, and he will be hoping to defend both titles this year and continue to set new records in Ulster Tennis.
