Cori Gauff, the 15-year-old sensation who defeated Venus Williams in round one, continued her stunning progress by beating former semi-finalist Magdalena Rybarikova at Wimbledon last night.

Young American Gauff put in another nerveless display, staying utterly focused to secure a commanding 6-3 6-3 victory in an hour and nine minutes.

Gauff, who has already declared she is here to win the tournament, will play world number 60 Polona Hercog in round three after the Slovenian beat 17th seed Madison Keys.

Gauff said: "I think I played well, especially on the pressure points. She was serving amazing so it was hard to return sometimes.

"There's so much going on. I'm still shocked that I'm even here."
