Bank on a magic High Noon match

Those comrades-in-arms of countless international triumphs, Kyle McCallan and Andrew White, had relished the thought of doing battle against each other today.

McCallan will lead formidable Waringstown on to The Lawn (Noon) against a fine Instonians side that had expected to look to White’s all round skills to help secure a place in the final of the NCU’s Ulster Bank Senior Challenge Cup.

The prize at the end will be a real showpiece against Civil Service North to determine the destiny of the historic trophy in little under four weeks’ time at Wallace Park, Lisburn.

Alas, chance took a hand and White will now miss out on a match he looked forward to for weeks.

A late rearrangement of Instonians’ Bob Kerr Irish Cup game against Railway Union yesterday pushed the NCU clash forward to today.
