Belfast punter flying high after bet pays out £333,333.33

A lucky Northern Ireland punter is flying high after scooping £333,333 and 33p for predicting six correct football scores.

And aircraft factory worker Trevor Sloan has revealed his formula for winning - he picked the right results on a wing and a prayer while on the night shift.

Now the south Belfast man is looking forward to treating himself to a new car and a new house with his winnings.

Trevor scooped the massive jackpot without having to spend a penny on his bet, as the Super 6 is free to enter.

Trevor shared the Skybet £1million Soccer Saturday Super 6 jackpot with two other people - and in the most dramatic circumstances.

It was only the third time in the history of the Skybet Super 6 bet that the £1m jackpot has been won.

The destination of the Saturday, August 18 jackpot, all hinged on the injury-time action in the Sky Bet Championship game at the DW Stadium.

With Wigan 2-1 up, Nottingham Forest's Matthew Cash was brought down in the area in the 91st minute to win a penalty and provide a late chance for Forest to earn a point.

Lewis Grabban seemed to have blown that golden opportunity as he saw his spot kick saved by Christian Walton.

However, Hillel Soudani's quick follow up to tap home from close range earned the 2-2 draw and presented Trevor and the two other players, Vicki and Ron, with a share of £1m.

Before the drama in Wigan, Harry Kane's first ever Premier League goal in August, which gave Tottenham a 3-1 win over Fulham at Wembley, looked to have given just one lucky player the windfall.

Kane's strike came in the 77th minute and meant for a 13-minute period, the jackpot was heading to a solo winner.

As Jeff Stelling said on Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday: "One person's misery is another's delight.''

And that turned out to be true for not just Trevor, but for Ron and Vicki.

After Soudani's late goal, the trio had to endure another seven minutes of injury time until the final whistle finally came on 98 minutes to seal their joy.

Trevor flew over to London to collect his cheque for £333,333.33 and met Stelling, along with the other lucky punter Ron.

Trevor told Stelling: "I didn't watch the programme.

"The first I heard about it was when I got a call from Sky.'' Asked by the Sky Sports presenter how he felt, Trevor said: "Shocked....a big shock.''

While Ron said he picked his scores going by the team's previous stats, Trevor had his own ingenious way of picking the exact scorelines. Jeff asked him: "Well Trevor, how did you pick your selections?''

"I picked out my selections on the night shift at three o'clock in the morning. I work in an aircraft factory.''

And how is Trevor going to spend his six-figure winnings?

He replied: "Probably buy a new car and a house!''

The winning £1million Soccer Saturday Super 6 score line predictions for Saturday August 24: Everton 2-1 Southampton; Leicester City 2-0 Wolves; Tottenham 3-1 Fulham; West Ham 1-2 Bournemouth; Wigan 2-2 Nottingham Forest and Millwall 2-1 Derby.
