Bombers spy on MI5

Dissident republicans planted spy cameras in trees at MI5’s £20m base at Palace Barracks.

Red-faced security chiefs last week had 20 trees chopped down after the shock discovery of four hidden cameras just yards from where a car bomb exploded outside the Holywood base in April.

Sunday Life can reveal the terrorist group spying on the spooks was Óglaigh na hÉireann (ONH) — the gang behind the car bomb.

It is feared ONH used the recordings to target soldiers and build profiles on some of MI5’s 300 staff at the complex.
