Boyce bows out
Liam Boyce hailed “brilliant” the moment Cliftonville fans rose to their feet to provide him with a standing ovation on Friday night.
Substituted in the final minute of what would appear to be his final game for the Reds, the 19-year-old took a few seconds to take it all in and, though he stopped just short of a poignant wave goodbye, afterwards admitted it was a nice note for him to bow out on.
“I wasn't really expecting anything like that and it was nice to look around and see everyone standing up to applaud me,” he said, adding: “The transfer would fairly need to go through after that or I'd be too embarrassed to show my face again!”
