Clarke's bent on success
Armagh manager Paddy O’Rourke believes that Jamie Clarke can now prove his side’s not-so-secret superman against Fermanagh in today’s All Ireland Qualifier second round tie at Brewster Park, Enniskillen.
When the 21-year-old Crossmaglen Rangers ace was sprung from the bench in the second-half of the orchard county’s Ulster Championship preliminary round tie against Derry in May, he immediately responded by whipping in the only goal of the game to help steer Armagh on to the path to victory.
And when he was rewarded for this feat by being included in the starting line-up for the round one Qualifier against Donegal, he promptly trebled his goals haul by banging in two within the opening eight minutes to set the tone for his team’s nine-point victory.
