Confession of a killer
Poyntzpass killer Stephen McClean has finally confessed: “I got it wrong”.
The LVF hitman, who gunned down best friends Damien Trainor and Philip Allen in the Railway Bar, has spoken for the first time of his bitter regret about the horrific double murder.
The killings, which occurred just weeks before the signing of the 1998 Good Friday Agreement, shocked Ulster.
Now McClean, who was freed from prison last month after serving 12 years, says he is sorry and is a changed man.
He also revealed that he is campaigning to have an IRA veteran freed from a jail — a man who he would not have thought twice about murdering a decade ago.
