Miranda Lambert, Una Healy and Nathan Carter were among the stars that shone on the first day of the Harvest Country Music Festival on Saturday.
Texan singer Miranda and The Saturdays band member Una wowed the crowds at Enniskillen Airport on the Co Fermanagh part of the line-up while Northern Ireland-based Nathan performed at Westport House in Co Mayo.
This year’s Harvest Country Music Festival is split between the two locations with the headline acts swapping venues for Sunday’s finale.
More than 30 acts are set to perform over the course of the weekend, on the three stages, with around 15,000 people expected to attend the Enniskillen location.
At the Co Fermanagh site, popstar turned country music singer Una Healy performed some of her new music, much of which was inspired by her mother and uncle, the Irish country singer Declan Nerney.
But it was Miranda Lambert who stole the show.
The two-day Harvest Country Music Festival will form the biggest headline gigs to date for Miranda.
In a recent interview with Sunday Life, she revealed that drinking a pint of Guinness and researching her roots were on the agenda during her visit to Ireland for the event.
The 34-year-old also admitted that she was “a little bit nervous” about playing in front of fans both north and south of the border.
As well as her solo performances, Miranda is part of the country supergroup the Pistol Annies, alongside Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, but it was her well-known solo music that got fans on their feet in Enniskillen last night.
Home-grown talents Donna Taggart and Cliona Hagan, who both hail from Co Tyrone, also impressed fans at their respective shows yesterday. The country music duo have become two of the biggest names on the Irish scene.
Sunday’s lineup in Enniskillen includes Wagon Wheel singer Nathan Carter; Kip Moore; Dan and Shay; Jack Carter; Catherine McGrath and Courtney Marie Andrews.
The Shires were supposed to perform on the main stage at Enniskillen Airport, but cancelled a few days ago.
A spokesperson for the music festival said Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes were deeply sorry for not being able to fulfil their commitment.
Meanwhile in Westport, Miranda Lambert will be joined by legendary Charley Pride; Una Healy; Cliona Hagan; Donna Taggart; Maddie and Tae; Ward Thomas; Mo Pitney and Sam Palladio.
