Hazel: I lived in fear of Howell
Scheming killer Hazel Stewart has claimed she was treated like a “piece of meat” by her lover Colin Howell following the murders of their partners.
The calculating murderess has been trying to explain why she carried on her affair with the dentist for years after the 1991 murders of Trevor Buchanan and Lesley Howell which she helped portray as a bizarre double suicide.
In an exclusive interview in yesterday’s Belfast Telegraph, Stewart – who is desperate to convince people she wasn’t her lover’s willing accomplice – said she lived in fear for her own and her children’s lives following the murders.
But her utterly bleak description of their relationship contrasts with versions given by two of Colin Howell’s children – Lauren and Daniel – in the recent BBC NI Spotlight programmes.
