Mark McAllister is desperate to erase the nightmare memories of the last time he played in the JJB Sports Irish Cup Final.
Just 18 and a target for a host of cross-channel clubs, McAllister was to have been Dungannon Swifts’ lethal weapon, ironically against current club Linfield three years ago.

And McAllister recalls: “I was heartbroken. I felt so bad I tossed away my loser’s medal.“I kept thinking it was my fault because in the shoot-out I missed the penalty which would have put us back on terms.
“I’ll never forget how bad I felt.”
