IFA lands Vauxhall cash deal
Irish FA chiefs are on the verge of clinching a new multi-million pound sponsorship deal.
Vauxhall Motors are said to be behind an ambitious move to back all four home nations — England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
With Nationwide set to bow out, the news will come as a welcome relief to football generally in Northern Ireland.
Full details of the deal will be revealed at a lavish launch at Wembley early in the New Year. The timely agreement will be seen as a huge feather in the cap of IFA Marketing chief Geoff Wilson.
Vauxhall were previously the name on Northern Ireland jerseys in the 1990s’ reign of Bryan Hamilton.
