Iris builder has new pump plan
A property developer who loaned Iris Robinson’s young lover £25,000 wants to build a petrol station and shops on land in Dundonald owned by Castlereagh Borough Council.
Ken Campbell submitted a planning application on December 2 last year — just weeks before the ‘Irisgate’ scandal erupted — to build on a site next to the Omniplex cinema on the Old Dundonald Road.
The land is managed by the Castlereagh Council created Hanwood Trust Company which previously had Mrs Robinson on its board.
