Barry Johnston wants to thank Cliftonville's fans for their unwavering support — but is urging them to turn nasty ahead of Thursday's night's Europa League showdown with The New Saints.
Johnston's wonder-goal against the Welshmen in the away leg has left the tie delicately poised at 1-1 at the halfway stage and the 31-year-old is hoping the Reds can complete the job at Solitude this week.
“It would be great for the club if we could make it through but I think we'll need a much better performance this time,” he says.
“The longer the first match went on, the more likely TNS looked like scoring another goal so we need to be wary of how capable a team they are, but we also know how good we can be ourselves and we want to make sure we do ourselves justice.”
