Lindsay's at height of power
Martin Lindsay believes he’s ready to take the first step towards becoming an Irish boxing legend at the King’s Hall on Wednesday night. The British featherweight champion defends against hard man John Simpson and says he will “give the fans an early Christmas present”. Lindsay has been told by promoter Frank Maloney that victory will lead to a three-fight plan leading to a shot at the a World featherweight title and the 28-year-old is adamant that it has come at just the right time. “It’s great that there is a plan in place for me because I’m now at my peak years and fighting at the King’s Hall is the pinnacle for any Irish fighter,” said Lindsay, who knows that former British champion Simpson poses a real threat.
