Lowry looking mean in green
Ian Lowry has been the forgotten man in local motorcycling during 2010 — but the 23-year-old is about to embark on the opportunity of a lifetime.
Lowry has been thrown an end-of-season lifeline to replace crocked Aussie Chris Vermeulen in the factory Kawasaki World Superbike team.
The Moira man spent two days earlier this week testing the team's factory ZX-10R at Almeria in Spain, and can't wait to make his World Superbike debut this coming weekend in Germany at the Nurburgring.
“I'm dying for it,” he said. “It's absolutely awesome and a dream come true for me with a really professional outfit."
