Newry boys' gr-eight day

St Colman's College Newry collected their eighth Hogan Cup yesterday in Croke Park after defeating St Jarlath’s Tuam by a single point.

Cathal Murray has now become the first manager of St Colman’s to take the Violet Hill men to back-to-back Hogan titles.

Reigning champions St Colman’s made a great start and, after Caolan Mooney had converted a free, a shot from the right wing from Jack Haughey deceived keeper James Healy and ended up in the net after only four minutes.
