Meet the World champion joining the Sunday Life team
A Northern Ireland superstar is joining your award-winning Sunday Life Sports team.
Sunday Life has made the signing of the summer by agreeing a deal with one of the greatest sportsmen this country has ever produced.
IBF World Bantamweight champion and proud son of Northern Ireland, Carl Frampton, is our new and explosive columnist.
Frampton has chosen his favourite Northern Ireland Sunday read, the current UK Regional Newspaper of the Year, to air his much sought after views on a weekly basis. Starting next Sunday, the gloves are off as 28-year-old Frampton is given free rein to comment on ALL aspects of Northern Ireland and international sport.
There will obviously be a heavy emphasis on boxing in his column, both professional and amateur, and no doubt, the name Scott Quigg will appear as Carl gives his views on that fight NOT taking place, but as a proud Crusaders and Northern Ireland fan, expect his passionate views on football to feature regularly.
Carl will bring you behind-the-scenes views from his training camp at McGuigan’s Gym in London and an exclusive fight week diary from El Paso, Texas when he makes his World title defence against Mexican Alejandro Gonzalez Jr on July 18.
“I’m delighted to be joining the Sunday Life Sports team and I can’t wait to get started,” says Carl.

“I’m proud to be from Northern Ireland and Sunday Life gives me the opportunity, especially when I’m in training camp or in the States, to stay connected with everyone in Northern Ireland.
“I promise to be as hard hitting on the pages of Sunday Life as I am in the ring. It is a column not to be missed.”
Sunday Life Sports Editor Paul Ferguson says: “It’s a fantastic coup for Sunday Life to have World champion Carl Frampton join our team.
“We take great pride in bringing our readers only the very best in sports columnists.
“In David Jeffrey we have the most respected voice in Irish League football, while Armagh legend Oisin McConville is widely regarded as the best in the business for his forthright views and tackling any GAA issue head-on. Carl will bring terrific insight, expert knowledge and wonderful humour to the sports pages of Sunday Life.
“An exceptional boxer, Carl, outside the ring is a terrific ambassador for Northern Ireland and a dedicated family man. Carl has a warm and infectious personality, a great sense of humour and is totally unassuming.
“Carl will be a great addition to our team.”
