Toddler Katie's parents praise 'amazing work' of hospice

By Annamay McNally

Roisin and Eunan O'Neill have committed themselves to raising funds to help other families in their position.

They recently presented cheques to the Spinal Muscle Atrophy (SMA) Trust and the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice after a coffee morning was held in Ardboe by members of Eunan’s family.

They plan to organise more events, and praised the generosity of all those who supported the coffee morning in any way.

Roisin was particularly grateful to the Children’s Hospice for the “amazing” work they do.

“They just make the little things very easy,” she explained.

“Things that Katie doesn’t have access to are made possible there.

“She got to sit on her daddy’s knee and go down a slide for the first time in her life. For us, that was so special.

“The hospice allows us to give Evie a chance to have fun and spend time with myself and Eunan.

“It’s just so great that we can spend time together as a family."
