Praise Ulster's Wann and only
EX-Springbok Pedrie Wannenburg woke up Ulster’s Heineken Cup challenge in icy Italy yesterday.
The big South African put a turbo charge behind Ulster’s faltering form with a brace of tries in the first six minutes of the second half. Wannenburg was on the ball each time as Ulster exposed the Italians’ lack of physicality up front with two tries from aggressive rolling mauls.
The two scores changed the whole game and Ulster cruised to a big 43-6 win. From an unconvincing 10-6 half time lead, Wannenburg’s brace, both converted by Ian Humphreys, suddenly sent Ulster soaring into a 24-6 lead and the game was over.
