Prof says no to cops' quiz

Ulster's top forensic scientist has refused to be interviewed by police probing his gay lover's alleged role in a multi-million pound money laundering scam.

Instead of agreeing to be questioned by detectives, State Pathologist Professor Jack Crane, 56, sent them a written statement through his solicitor.

The document outlined his financial arrangements with Chinese boyfriend Paul Mo, who is currently on remand at Maghaberry Prison.

There is absolutely no suggestion that Professor Crane is involved in or had knowledge of any wrongdoing.

However cops suspect his 41-year-old lover of being a central cog in an international money laundering gang.

Paul Mo is facing a litany of serious charges including fraud, cheating the public purse, and acquiring, transferring and converting criminal property.
