Race shame of film-food firm

An Ulster movie catering firm boss has been slammed by a tribunal for subjecting a Polish worker to shocking racist abuse.

Debbie Hanney, who runs Co Down-based Simply Good Food Ltd, has been ordered to fork out more than £13,000 for bullying the immigrant dishwasher.

An Employment Tribunal in Belfast heard Hanney branded dish washer and lorry driver Wojciech Slawdmir Makdwski “stinking” in front of other workers and later bought him a deodrant.

Hanney’s company has provided catering for a series of hit movies — including Johnny English, The Bourne Supremacy and Fifty Dead Men Walking.
