Revenge mission

Northern Ireland striker Warren Feeney has revealed Friday night’s Euro 2012 victory in Slovenia was a revenge mission two years in the making.

Oldham hitman, Feeney, who scored the winner against Slovenia at Windsor Park during the last World Cup qualifying campaign, has never forgotten the bully-boy tactics deployed by the home side at the Ljudski VRT Stadium almost two years ago, after Nigel Worthington’s troops crashed to a 2-0 defeat.

Not content with their victory with two goals in the final eight minutes, it has emerged the over-excited Slovenia players infuriated their beaten opponents by banging Northern Ireland’s dressing room door in the midst of their celebrations.
