Robinson: Toughest year ever
First Minister Peter Robinson has described the past 12 months as “the most testing year of his life”.
The DUP leader made his comments during a speech at the party's annual conference at the La Mon hotel on the outskirts of east Belfast yesterday.
Over the past year Mr Robinson has had to contend with revelations that his shamed wife Iris had an affair with teenage toy-boy Kirk McCambley, and that she used £50,000 of loans from two developers to set him up in business.
The scandal had a major impact on his political life and led to him losing his East Belfast Westminster seat in May's general election.
