Sad husband can't bear to stay in home
Grief-stricken John McAreavey can’t bear to move into the home he bought with Michaela before their tragic honeymoon.
The loved-up couple had bought a newly built red-brick detached house in Roes Hill, Lawrencetown, where they intended to begin their new life together.
They had never lived together before and were waiting until they were married to set up home.
John should have carried his new bride over the threshold of the cosy home — and Michaela wanted to hear it filled with the noise of the children she planned on having.
But now the house stands empty, turned from an ideal home to a grim reminder of dreams that will never be fulfilled.
