Shore will be a night to remember

All roads lead to Seaview for a battle supreme between Crusaders and Linfield on Friday night.

A further revision of the fixture list means that the Carling Premiership’s top two sides will lock horns in a potentially pivotal encounter on the Shore Road after yesterday’s two-way split in the table was finally confirmed.

Lisburn Distillery’s defeat of Portadown means they sneaked into the top half at the expense of Coleraine, whose first post-split game is Friday’s home contest with derby rivals Ballymena United.

Glenavon and Dungannon Swifts meet at Mourneview on Thursday night to ensure the Lurgan pitch is adequately rested ahead of Saturday’s Co-operative Insurance Cup Final between Distillery and the Ports, while top-half Cliftonville play host to bottom-half Donegal Celtic in a game quite rightly scheduled for April Fool’s Day.

In addition, the fixtures guideline issued on March 11 has been altered to the extent where all clubs will now be operating under virtually a whole new schedule.
