The Irish FA are unable to say when a verdict will be delivered on the Institute/PSNI appeal that was lodged seven weeks ago.

'Stute were automatically relegated from the Danske Bank Premiership when top-flight clubs opted to end the interrupted season using a mathematical formula, which also led to PSNI's demotion from the Championship.

Institute lodged an appeal against the decision on June 29, with the Police following suit soon after.

Insiders have cited time off on holiday leave and difficulties for independent arbiters juggling the case with their day jobs, but the IFA were unable to shed any light on the matter.

When asked where the appeals were, what was causing the delay and when an announcement could be expected, a spokesperson said: "The appeals are ongoing."
