Glentoran Women are set to add the firepower of Kerry Beattie back into their attack for the second half of the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership season.

The 19-year-old striker has left Glasgow City after less than six months in Scotland, missing the final League games of the season as well as their Scottish Women’s Cup Final defeat to Celtic Women.

She is now expected to rejoin the Glens and slot straight back into the team she shot to the title last season, finishing the campaign as the leading goalscorer and winning the Northern Ireland Football Awards Women’s Player of the Year prize.

Glentoran haven’t struggled for goals without Beattie, scoring 27 in their seven League games so far, but her match-winning quality will be a massive asset as they chase down Cliftonville Ladies, who will resume the campaign in August with a five-point lead over the reigning Champions.
