Ulster still cup for it
Ulster are still alive in Europe, but only just.
They got the win they needed, at a wind and rain-soaked Ravenhill, thanks to Ian Humphreys’ late penalty to finish 9-6 ahead of Biarritz and stay on course to make the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup for the first time since they famously lifted the trophy in 1999.
But their fate now hangs on next weekend’s final round of games as both Ulster and Biarritz, sit joint top of Pool Four with 17 points each.
