Ulster's old story in New Year

Munster 35-10 Ulster

Ulster began 2011 as they ended 2010 — losing to an Irish province and conceding ground in the race for a top four Magners League finish.

Leaders Munster outscored them 29-0 in the second half, turning a 10-6 interval deficit into a 35-10 bonus point-clinching victory.

Boasting a perfect played eight, won eight home record in all competitions this season, not surprisingly they were firm pre-match favourites.

That was a reasonable enough; few emerge victorious from Thomond Park.Ulster, who arrived in Limerick buoyed up by the second best away record in the Magners League having secured 16 league points from their five on-the-road outings, left having been well beaten.
